This generation is filled with young fresh talent. I’m always finding new young creatives killing it and I couldn’t be more impressed with their success. Breaking the stereotype of “college being the only option” and starting to make the entrepreneur lifestyle the norm!
Wearing certain clothes is an expression for me, because I’m expressing my mood and feeling of the day. But for this I’d get many inspirations from movies, music, history, books, and other people I’ve met or seen, and try to combine all the inspiration into one so I can try to build up a combined creative style and express one part of my creativity through clothes.
To me, expressing myself is a huge part in being aware of my own personality. Finding my own style and way of standing out is a confirmation of finding myself and who I aspire to be. When I get dressed in the morning, before going out etc. I want my style to reflect how I feel on the inside. I often catch myself wearing colourful and experimenting with clothes when I’m in a good mood, the other way around as well. I think I have always been interested in fashion one way or another, I can’t remember the last time I just threw some clothes on without considering whether it was decent or not. My obsession started as soon as I opened my eyes up for street wear, and I became aware of a whole new world of style. I began to find interest in brands like supreme and palace, and changed out my wardrobe completely. I can’t explain how many times I raided my wardrobe to throw everything out and replace it with new – I change my style a lot, that’s a part of me growing. In my opinion, style has nothing to do with the amount of money spent on clothes, it’s all about how you put it together. I like high-end clothes, you can easily have only one high-end item, but how to make it stand out is a matter of how you style it. I don’t like wearing too many high-end pieces at the same time, as I feel like I’m overkilling it by almost burying what I’m trying to highlight. Colours, shapes, contrasts – these are some of the things I’d focus on rather that a tag on the inside of my shirt.
As someone in the fashion world, the only way you can set yourself apart is being your own individual. The minute details mean the most to me because of the differences they can really make to an outfit; I personally try to set myself apart by customizing my clothes and mixing things that would normally not be put together. You have to express your inner weirdness in what you design and wear. Expressing yourself is essential in the fashion world, especially at a younger age than most to (in a way) prove yourself and prove that you are capable of having your own ideas and capitalizing on them. Carrying yourself with confidence automatically sets you apart from most as well as making an impression; making yourself heard is essential to success.
Why I’m into the fashion world. My name is BellaRose Robinson and the reason I got into fashion is because it’s the one thing where you can a hundred percent be yourself and express your personality in interests in clothing. One of the other reasons I got into the fashion world is because of my mom, she is one of the most talented people I know and could literally design and style anyone and anything. We both love the high end street wear to high end designers as well. Street wear is such an amazing and interesting route in the fashion world because it has been so popular for a long time and it’s getting bigger and bigger. One of the reasons it’s so big is because of the people who wear the clothing, for example all the rappers we listen to, they have helped lead people who aren’t really into fashion and others who are totally into it and have brought different types of people with different interests into such a fun world. One of my fashion inspirations is Luka Sabbat, he has styled and modeled for so many big brands and being so young in the business and successful is such a cool and inspiring thing to young kids and his style is beyond different and cool. The fashion scene for me has always been positive, it has made me more creative and I have met so many interesting and smart people as well. The connections really help you get far too. Knowing the right people in the industry will get you so far. The fashion world is a big, bad and lucrative place to be, it can do so much for someone and lead people together, it’s been an amazing ride so far and I hope I can continue growing and learning.
Fashion to me is one of the most important aspects of life. Fashion is the best way to tell someone who you are without having to say a word. It is the definition of self expression and femininity and there lies so much power behind it.
Fashion to me is a very interesting medium. Self expression is shown through any artist by their medium, but I feel like fashion is so unique because it’s a way to express yourself and show someone who you are without even saying a word. For me that’s very powerful. Of course you have your hypebeasts, and carbon copies that jump on what’s cool or popular, but true fashion speaks through when someone doesn’t care about what brands they wear and creates a look that is truly unique to them. I don’t care too much about brands, labels, or what’s cool. I wake up in the morning and get dressed with whatever I like and fits my mood for the day. I feel we live in a truly wonderful time for fashion. For so long it has been an industry flooded with stuffy people who care only about who you are and who you know, and whether what you wear is relevant or not. Now so many young kids are adding their own unique tastes to the mix, and breaking down the barriers of what it truly means to be fashionable. That’s what the industry is looking for now. It is very tired of the same almost cookie cutter looks and styles and looks to the kids who are doing they’re own thing and bringing some difference to the table. But the cool thing now is that kids aren’t looking at established fashion streams to get some sort of validation, because they can get stuff poppin off on their own like nobody was ever able to do before.
This world, this generation, these kids, these youthful creative beings have so much to offer. I’m beyond amazed at the progression we’ve made in this world to accept and embrace the youth! Creating is my passion, it’s what I live for. Fashion has been an amazing outlet for me to express myself and my desire to empower young people to rock whatever they feel comfortable and confident in. Stop shaming and judging others and focus on empowering, encouraging, and respecting the creative minds of others.
